Designing the TALOS Identity
Dec 6, 2025
Start to finish in a single day.

THE MISSION
I wasn't originally going to do anything besides create the device. However, I realized that graphic design is my strongest suit and I wanted to challenge myself with web development as well. Recognizing this strength, I expanded the project scope to include a full web interface, bridging the gap between hardware utility and digital experience.
THE CONCEPT
In Greek mythology, Talos is a giant bronze automaton built to protect the city of Crete by being its "shield". Similarly, TALOS protects riders from the dangers they can't see, and the logo needed to reflect that concept of a "shield". By incorporating sharp and thick characteristics into aperture shutters, they began to resemble a shield. The square on the inside represents a "bounding box", the square that YOLO uses to label detected vehicles.
THE PROCESS
The process took multiple iterations. Below, I've attached some images of previous phases from my Adobe Illustrator artboard.
